Effective August 9, 2026 · Updated October 22, 2026
CaptionBoss is a video content workspace operated by SC Studios ("we", "us") in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it, in plain English.
We do not sell your data. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't train our own AI models on it.
Face photos you add are used solely to keep people recognizable in the thumbnails you generate. When you remove a face profile, we delete it from our systems and instruct our service provider to delete the trained profile. Only add photos of people who have given you their permission.
Your content is encrypted in transit and stored with per-workspace access controls — only members you invite can see a workspace. Temporary secure links used for processing expire automatically.
Our team doesn't look at your content. To check that the service is working, we look at activity records — what ran, when, and whether it succeeded — not your videos, captions or transcripts. We only open a workspace's content if you ask us to help with something in it, or if the law requires it.
Your content stays in your workspace until you delete it. You can delete projects, faces, files and whole workspaces at any time inside the app. To delete your entire account, use Settings → Account → Delete my account: it removes your login and every workspace only you own — with its uploads, files, linked social accounts and face profiles — cancels any paid plan on them, and removes you from workspaces you share with another owner. You can also email us and we'll do it for you. When a workspace is deleted, we also ask our service providers to delete their copies (transcription jobs, trained face and style profiles, and the posting profile for your linked accounts). Stripe keeps its own record of past payments, as the law requires.
Inside the app we use only what's needed to keep you signed in.
On our public website (the home, features, pricing, help and contact pages, and the sign-up screen) we use the Meta Pixel so we can tell whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to sign-ups. It records page views and a "signed up" or "started a trial" event along with the plan name; we don't send it your name, email, or anything you upload. Meta may set a cookie and combine this with information it already holds about you under its own privacy policy; you can opt out of ad personalization in your Facebook ad settings, and most ad blockers stop the pixel entirely. The app itself (once you're signed in and working) is not measured this way.
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information at any time. Depending on where you live, additional legal rights may apply — we honor reasonable requests regardless.
CaptionBoss is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
